Well.....it's been a crazy 2 weeks at our house. Boston came down with a REALLY bad chest cold. Poor guy. We did everything we could to keep London from getting it. I washed my hands so much my skin started to flake! Despite our efforts, she got it too. We took her to the Dr. last Thursday, and she was diagnosed with Bronchiolitis. Everyone is getting much better now....but it was a crazy time.
Now for the funny story.
London was sick. Up coughing ALL night. I am NOT good with nighttime stuff. I need my sleep. So, Denver was up with her.....he's such a good daddy. Around 4:30 am, Denver tells me he thinks she has a fever and is concerned about her breathing. So, I hopped up. Temperature was fine, but she was really wheezing, coughing, and struggling to breath. At one point, she started to gag on something and couldn't "recover" from it. We needed to suck out the "junk." So I yelled, "Denver, go get the bulb syringe. It's in the kitchen!" He runs to the kitchen. I hear him rummaging through the drawers. In frustration (he was taking too long!), I run to the kitchen, pick up the bulb syringe, and say, "UGH! HERE IT IS!!!" At that same moment, Denver holds up the TURKEY BASTER and says, "Here!"
No. I'm not kidding. He got the turkey baster.
I laughed SO HARD! To his credit, I never call it by that name...bulb syringe....nasal aspirator....none of those names. We have always called it the "snot sucker." For whatever reason, in that moment of hysteria, I called it a bulb syringe.
God knew we needed some comic relief that night!
