Boston is 3!

This past weekend, we had a big birthday party for our precious boy. Here are just a few pictures:

Family Pictures

We had some family pictures taken, as well as London's 6 month panel picture. Some are funny, and some are precious! If you'd like to see the pictures, let me know and I'll give you the password.

So annoying....

Okay. How in the world do you fold a fitted sheet? I should have this figured out by now.....but it drives me NUTS! I end up with nicely-folded pillowcases and a flat sheet.....but then a big ball of fitted sheet.

Help!!!!

What a weekend

We've had a full weekend!

Friday - Went to look at a minivan. We purchased a minivan. Went to Lowe's to buy stuff to extend our patio. Worked on that ALL day and night.

Saturday - Our new-to-us minivan was delivered to our house! YEAH!!!!! I love it....we can all fit comfortably in one vehicle. Thanks Mike Cady for helping us find a car! Then, off to Spring Hill to drop off Boston at a friend's house and then to a baby shower. It was a great time in celebration for our sweet friend Surupa. Then, I picked up Boston and came home. Round trip we drove about 110 miles. Denver got home around 8 pm and I went to Lowe's again.

Sunday - Woke up late....so we missed church. Went to Red Robin with my parents for lunch. Then shopping with mom, to Lowe's, and back home. Worked on the patio and went to Lowe's AGAIN! (I think I've been there like 6 or 7 times this weekend.) Came home and FINISHED the patio!!!!

Whew.......now I'm sore and tired.....and ready for bed. As tired as I am......I am soooooooo incredibly thankful for my husband and children on this Mother's Day. I am amazed that God has blessed me with such a wonderful, loving, precious family.

Randomness.....

London got her first mosquito bite today.....on her eyelid! poor baby.

I got my braces off a couple weeks ago. I have two teeth that are not straight.....but what are you going to do.

I love my new running shoes!

I have GOT to go to the grocery store tomorrow. We are out of almost everything. Boston's lunch consisted of string cheese, beans out of a can, goldfish crackers, and juice. Mmmmmmmmm.

Man. We've got to find a mini-van. We're going to Holiday World soon.....we need more room to travel with two kids.

That's it. Nothing important.....just my random thoughts.

Car and Tractor Show

Weather permitting, we are going to the antique car and tractor show Sat. morning at the Long Hollow Jamboree....to benefit the Hendersonville Volunteer Fire Dept. (Boston loves tractors and cars.)

I called the Jamboree the other day. This was part of my phone conversation.

Jamboree: Hello?
me: Yes, I am calling to inquire about the car and tractor show this weekend. Will it be held right there on your property?
Jamboree: Uh...yes.
me: What all will you have there at the show? (meaning....food? entertainment? etc.)
Jamboree: Uh.....cars and tractors, I reckon.

So funny. If you've never been to the Long Hollow Jamboree on a Saturday night, you've not lived. It is very family friendly. With that said, it's a step back into time and a step into another world. It's a lot of fun. Be brave.......go sometime. (Be sure to brush-up on your two-step and clogging skills.)

What a week!

Well, it was been one of those weeks. It started last Thursday when I got really sick! Denver went out of town at the same time. (It always seems to happen that way.) My mom stepped in and saved the day! She stayed with me much of the weekend to make sure the kiddos were taken care of.

We've had shelves installed in our garage, cleaned and organized our garage, had a playhouse built for Boston, and I am currently switching out clothes for everyone (you know, winter to spring/summer).

In the midst of everything, sleep has been lacking. It's made me really on edge with the kids, especially as Boston is REALLY coming into his three-ness. WOW. Here are two stories:

1) As I ran into Lowe's the other night, Denver and the kids stayed in the car. Boston got in the front seat and pretended to drive while I took care of things inside the store. When I came out, I asked him to please get into his car seat. After several requests, I picked him up and moved him. He forcefully put both of his hands on my face and grabbed my glasses. Trying to remain calm, I asked him, "Did you mean to hit mommy?" I asked him again. He looked at me and said, "No dear......(pause)......how much I love you, please don't take my sunshine away." We couldn't help but laugh. Denver said, "Buddy, are you going to be a smooth talker?" Boston said, "ugh....no daddy. I am going to be a ring bear (bay-yer)!!!" (He's going to be the ring bearer in Nay-nay and Kay-kay's wedding.) He's starting to be very clever.......that little brain is QUICK!

2) This is a not-so-cute-story. He has been pushing my buttons all day. I've been trying to remain calm, yet firm. I know that "harsh words stir up anger, but a gentle answer turns away wrath." But sometimes the only thing that seems to get his attention is when I raise my voice. (ugh.....that's another blog post entirely!) As we are nearing age 3, he's starting to climb on EVERYTHING! So, tonight he decided he would climb on the back of the couch. Knowing that he would fall (on top of a drum set), I asked him to get down. He didnt' listen. He disappeared behind the couch, all except one arm that's grasping onto the couch. I quickly sat London down on the couch to rescue my son from a trip to the emergency room. After a scolding, I got him back on the couch...and what did he do? He tried it again. At the same time, London somehow slid off the couch.....HEAD first. She landed on her head and rolled (flopped) on the floor. London was screaming. Then I screamed at Boston. Then he was screaming.

Oh my....... what a glorious ending to a crazy week.
